1,2,3 with Keratex!

Wouldn't you love your horses to look show ready everyday with minimal effort? Knowing they're getting cared for and moisturised without the worry of hoof oils drying them out? Oh? Didn't you know most hoof oils don't actually hydrated the hoof itself? They make the horse look pretty and shiny sure, but it isn't something you should be using daily on your horses as it can result in very dried out feet! Which then leads to issues such as brittle hooves, cracks then into the losing shoes category! I have a really easy routine for you to follow that has helped my mare immensely and she looks FANTASTIC every single day. Seriously, she looks show ready after applying ANY Keratex product but goodness me isn't this coconut hoof balm just incredible! I am absolutely IN LOVE with this product. It smells amazing, it makes my mare look absolutely stunning and it is a huge benefit to her feet! So, are you ready? Here we go! A short and simply 1,2,3 with Ketatex!

Step One

This is what we all see when we bring our horses in right? That dreaded feeling of oh god, that mud is going to take ages to take out, and they’re never going to look clean again!

Well, get out that hoof pick and start digging people!

Step Two

Phew, all done! I have a nearly 17hh Friesian Mare and those feet are heavy!

Anyway, we aren’t done! Time to scrub out those feet with some water with my trusty brush, bucket and spray in some Keratex Hoof & foot scrub! Let that dry naturally whilst I have a break and a cuppa tea! I admire farriers, four giant feet is enough in one day for me!!

So, once those feet have dried naturally and all been cleaned thoroughly I will coat the inside with Keratex Hoof Gel, this makes the foot easier to clean out the more you use it! Then I coat all her feet with coconut balm this is the end result and how her feet look before she goes to bed!

Step Three: Admire the foot

B-E-A-UUUUUUTIFUL! Gosh, isn’t that so glorious to look at?? It makes a day complete knowing her feet are sorted and looking lovely like that whilst being taken care of!

Here is the difference with the coconut hoof balm (black option they also do clear) with and without it on the foot! Left is after washing and scrubbing without the balm, right is with the balm after routine scrub and spray!

Show ready huh? Absolutely incredible stuff!! Why do this every night? Jolien suffers from dry hooves badly, it’s been a huge journey trying to correct them and our amazing farrier (Mark Meergan, our personal hoof god) has said she does pretty well for having not great feet! She went through a stage in the summer where they went backwards by huge steps. I found the source of the issue that was basically rotting her feet away and immediately began a strict routine. But this man is doing wonders for her and she absolutely adores him... can’t you tell??

Big shout to the man himself!! I have known him nearly 20 years, how scary is that!!

Why is it best to do it before bed time? You wouldn’t go to bed with a dirty face, so don’t let your horse go to bed with muddy feet! This is the BEST time to let all that product work it’s wonders without wet grass or mud interferring with its process. Standing in the stable for the night letting those hooves hydrate!

So here is also a video Of Jolien‘s feet 12 hours after this routine and stable all night!
